ProChile, the Chilean Export Promotion Bureau, invites you to apply for the position of the Trade Manager in Toronto, Canada.

The goal of this position is to execute commercial actions and strategies for the promotion of Chilean products and services in the Canadian market, as well as promoting investment and tourism in Chile.

Major responsibilities:

  • Supporting and being a relevant actor to contribute to the increase of Chilean exports, foreign investment in Chile and stimulate tourism towards Chile.
  • Contributing to the dissemination of opportunities for Chilean exports, the attraction of investment and tourism to Chile, promotion strategies and market opening.
  • Coordinating and following up on promotional and outreach activities driven by the Trade Office and ProChile, especially to strengthen Chile’s image in events that involve promotion, search or expansion of markets for Chilean exports.
  • Exploring and knowing about the market situation for the main Chilean export products, so that these can be prioritised or considered in specific projects, identifying price evolution, positioning and activities carried out by competitors, marketing conditions, among others.
  • Carrying out field work by visiting representatives of different sectors: Chambers of Commerce and Industry, importers, distribution agents, universities, trade shows and events, among others, expanding the network of contacts of the Trade Office.
  • Organizing trade missions to the local market, with preparation of seminars, business rounds and visits to production and commercial centres, etc., based on required needs.
  • Advising and supporting Chilean entrepreneurs in their search for business opportunities in the target market.
  • Conducting market research and preparing reports containing useful information for ProChile’s clients on market access and positioning.
  • Managing networks of relevant contacts for the Trade Office, including importers, distributors, public/private institutions, among others.
  • Performing administrative tasks in the Trade Office.

Application requirements:

  •  Professional degree in the areas of International Relations, Administration, Business, Foreign Trade, Commercial Engineering, Economics, Marketing, Social Sciences, Communication or related fields.
  •  Work experience in positions related to foreign trade in the public or private sector.
  •  At least 1 year of experience related to foreign trade, trade promotion or public relations.
  •  Knowledge of the Chilean export offer.
  •  Understanding of the Canadian business ecosystem
  •  Expertise in market opening and promotion of exportable goods and services from Chile to the Canadian market.
  •  Social media management, use and administration.
  •  Language: Native English and advanced Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Holding a CITP certification is an asset for the position.

  • Foreigner with permanent residence and work permit to work in Canada.

  • Gross monthly salary: CAD 6,185.14
  • This contract will be be governed by the laws of Canada (province of Ontario), with health insurance, employment insurance, and pension fund according to current regulations.
