Position: Compliance Business Analyst

Location: Erlanger, KY

Description: The Compliance Business Analyst would assist the ITAC Compliance manager with various import/export related regulatory compliance programs for DHLE USA. This individual would be directly involved with internal gateway and service center audits; investigating potential import and export violations; assist in creating weekly and monthly compliance metrics; and performing task to ensure DHLE USA compliance with various trade regulations. This position is located at our CVG facility in the Northern Kentucky area. The position is hourly non-exempt during first shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and ensure compliance under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) for US import, export and transit transactions
  • Perform DPA match review research and validation
  • Review, approval and maintenance of the DHLE Controlled Exports shipping applications
  • Support the Automated Export System (AES) Account Manager
  • Work with Sales, Legal Department, the US Government, and Customer to resolve DP escalations
  • Research potential violations and work with Operations, Customers, and the US Government on solutions to problems with DPA shipments
  • Develop and conduct training and regarding DHL and US government import and export policies and procedures and act as a resource for questions by Operations
  • Assist with review and update of import and export compliance policies
  • Assist with annual GW Audits
  • Perform detailed research in multiple internal IT systems, the internet, and hard copy files

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of export controls laws and regulations is required including knowledge of the ITAR, FTR, and EAR 
  • Basic understanding of import and inbond transfer processes and regulations 
  • Familiarity with the process of reviewing and working within denied party screening applications 
  • Developed oral and written communication skills 
  • Knowledge of and proficient at using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook 
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving 
  • Ability to proficiently communicate with US Government officials and external auditors 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and high pressure environment 
  • Organized and able to maintain a filing system 
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
