I would also add a build in understanding credit terms and trade financing especially letters of credit and attention to detail. One mistake can cost you time and time is money.
The one thing that should also be added is that there are many trained and good freight forwarders that understand these important points so there is no need to be afraid of exporting but as the exporter you should really work with your forwarder to make sure they explain all these areas well and ensure all the checks and balances are done prior to shipping and committing to an Intenational transaction. If you do the pre-work you will most likley have a successful trade experieince.
